What We Do
Just Pictures, for the repair and restoration of digitised (scanned) photo prints, film slides (positives) and negatives, the colourisation of scanned black and white and digitally shot black and white images, the retouching of digitally shot or scanned photo images and the scanning of photographic materials from individual images to entire collections. Helping to preserve, enhance and archive your images.

Restore
What is it?
Repairing an image that has first been digitised from an original print, negative or slide (positive), that has suffered some form of age related deterioration or other damage, when in its original format, in order to return it to as close to its original condition as possible.
Retouch
What is it?
Adjusting elements within a digital image, such as addressing skin blemishes and dark circles under eyes or making environmental changes by removing unwanted elements or adding or swapping elements such as a background. This can transform an image that may have initially been rejected.
Colourise
What is it?
The adding of colour to digitally shot or digitised black and white film images. A little colour can sometimes help people better connect with an image. Not necessarily suited to all images, but it can give wonderfully pleasing results.
Scan
What is it?
The machine scanning of photographic materials, prints, negatives and slides to produce digital representations that can be stored on digital media for archiving, editing, sharing and printing; probably, most Importantly, scanning is preserving images that will eventually be lost due to the nature of the materials of their original format. We are a small operation based in Hove, not far from what's left of the old West Pier, on the South East Coast. We have a passion for photographic images, still shooting film too after thirty-five years, they are after all one of our most wonderful cultural treasures. We want to help you to preserve histories, memories and experiences that without preservation could be lost forever or make those images that were not quite what you were looking for or never quite right just that bit better.
All your images are as important to us as those that are part of our own history.
